What is the level of thickness that a laser wood cutter can cut?

With our powerful laser machines, they are able to handle both soft and hard woods. For balsa, a soft type of wood you can set the laser wood cutter laser beam power low at high speed while solid and hardwood varieties will need more laser beam power. CO2 laser cutting machines are equipped to cut through in a single pass wood with approximately ¼ inch thickness at 50 watts. For thicker woods with ¾” thickness the CO2 laser wood cutter needs to be set at 150 watts to successfully produce desired engraving or etching.
